Gunter attended the University of Dallas where he helped found the school’s Students for Liberty chapter and participated in UD’s Rome Semester in the Spring of 2021. He received his Bachelors in Politics in 2014. Following undergraduate he was admitted to the Texas Tech University School of Law and obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2015. As a law student he clerked at a boutique litigation firm in Des Moines, Iowa where he received the opportunity to work on a variety of litigation matters, from property disputes to a civil murder trial. He also clerked for Chief Justice Sherry Radack.
Following graduation Gunter maintained his own practice, serving the needs of clients in varied matters including: business organization and operational issues, freeing 60 title 1 firearms wrongly seized in a bankruptcy, restoration of firearms rights, and other matters. In 2019 he moved to Dallas to join a defense firm working on catastrophic injury, products liability, premises liability, and personal injury defense cases.
Outside of the office, Gunter may usually be found in a cloud of cigar smoke or on the firing range.
